Summer Organ Festival: Matthew Jorysz

Summer Organ Festival: Matthew Jorysz

Date Time Location Price

Discover the Abbey’s awe-inspiring grand organ as Matthew Jorysz plays works by Elgar, Holst and Iain Farrington.

The 2023 festival continues with Abbey Assistant Organist Matthew Jorysz reprising his performance of Iain Farrington’s exuberant Voices of the World, the world premiere of which he gave at The Coronation of Their Majesties The King Charles Queen earlier this year.
Fellow Coronation organist Peter Holder also makes a special guest appearance, joining Matthew in an arrangement of Jupiter from Holst's The Planets, and the evening’s programme also includes works by Butterworth, Elgar and Vaughan Williams.
Assistant Organist of Westminster Abbey since January 2016, Matthew Jorysz is a rising star of the organ world. Prior to his Abbey appointment he was Organ Scholar of Clare College, Cambridge, where he accompanied the College’s acclaimed choir in its busy schedule of performances, tours, broadcasts on and recordings. As an organ recitalist he performs regularly in the UK and further afield, while as a pianist he is developing a career as a chamber musician, chiefly collaborating with singers.
