Service to mark the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 on Awareness Sunday

A special service of remembrance and reconciliation for Awareness Sunday took place at Westminster Abbey on Sunday 11 September at 6.30pm to mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US.
Awareness Sunday, an educational campaign by the Awareness Foundation is urging churches to mark the day with special services and prayers. The Archbishop of Canterbury The Most Reverend Dr Rowan Williams, who is patron of the Awareness Foundation and who was in New York at the time of the attacks said: “Awareness Sunday is acknowledging thorough education, the urgent need to dispel ignorance and the urgent need to help each one of us to build a path of peace in our diverse, ever-changing world.”
The Awareness Foundation is an educational, ecumenical and international charity, founded in 2003 in response to the disturbing increase in religious conflict and violence around the world.
