Sir Alan Muir Wood, who died on 1 February 2009 aged 87 was one of Britain's most eminent engineers and played a leading role in many of the 20th century's great tunnelling projects.
A Service of Thanksgiving for his life and work was held in conjunction with the Institution of Civil Engineers in St Margaret's Church on Thursday 4 June at 1pm.
