| Description | This second lecture on the possibilities of believing in life beyond death presented some key images of eternity from christian theology. It sketched out how life beyond death had been imagined in scriptural narrative and imagery, and then asked whether these images are credible in a contemporary world view of space, time, and material reality. It considered whether the idea of 'soul' can and should be rehabilitated, in spite of its currently unfashionable status.
