There are two kinds of tour available for school parties, unguided and guided. Tours undertaken without pre-booking do not qualify for a discount and the normal concessionary rates apply. We advise that you pre-book all tours, to qualify for a discount:

Self-Guided Tour: Overseas school groups are welcome to visit the Abbey from September to June inclusive, without needing to have a Blue Badge Guide. However, in the busy summer months of July and August, we do require that all overseas school groups arrange their own Blue Badge guide – indeed, you cannot visit during this peak summer period without a Blue Badge Guide.

Pre-booked Discounted Charges, September to June only, without a Blue Badge Guide:

Aged 10 and below: £2 per child

Aged 11 to 15: £3 per child

Aged 16-18: £5 per child.

The same charge in the appropriate grouping applies to teachers in the correct ratio only, with additional adults paying for a full price adult ticket.

There must always be at least one teacher or helper to every 10 pupils.

Blue Badge Guides are booked and charged separately. The all-year-round rate charged by the Abbey for such tours is £6.00 and these tours are not subject to a concessionary rate.
