There are two kinds of tour available for school parties, unguided and guided.
Tours undertaken without pre-booking do not qualify for a discount and the normal concessionary rates apply. We advise that you pre-book all tours, to qualify for a discount:
Self-Guided Tour
Self-Guided Tour: Overseas school groups are welcome to visit the Abbey from September to June inclusive, without needing to have a Blue Badge Guide. However, in the busy summer months of July and August, we do require that all overseas school groups arrange their own Blue Badge guide indeed, you cannot visit during this peak summer period without a Blue Badge Guide.
Pre-booked Discounted Charges, September to June only, without a Blue Badge Guide:
Aged 10 and below: £2 per child
Aged 11 to 15: £3 per child
Aged 16-18: £5 per child.
The same charge in the appropriate grouping applies to teachers in the correct ratio only, with additional adults paying for a full price adult ticket.
There must always be at least one teacher or helper to every 10 pupils.

Guided Tour with Blue Badge Guide

Charges for Blue Badge Guide Tours:
Blue Badge Guides are booked and charged separately. The all-year-round rate charged by the Abbey for such tours is £6.00 and these tours are not subject to a concessionary rate.
