A Service of Dedication of a memorial to Olaudah Equiano, The African

Olaudah Equiano, the black campaigner prominent in the 18th century abolitionist movement which brought slavery to an end, is to be honoured with a memorial in St Margaret’s Church at Westminster Abbey.

The Archbishop of York, the Most Revd and Rt Hon Dr John Sentamu, will attend the dedication of the memorial in St Margaret’s at 6.30 pm on Monday 9 February 2009.
