My song is love unknown
Choral music inspired by the season of Lent

Join Nonsuch Singers (‘one of London’s best chamber choirs’, The Times) and conductor Tom Bullard for a seasonal programme of inspirational choral works at St.Margaret's, Westminster. Designed to reflect the spirit of Lent, the programme features music by Renaissance and contemporary composers, performed in the historic setting of "the parish church of the House of Commons".

This concert is built around Carlo Gesualdo's 1611 Tenebrae Responsoria for Holy Saturday, a set of nine highly expressive pieces which draw the listener into the unique sound world of a composer whose genius is only now being fully appreciated. The Gesualdo alternates with works by Poulenc (Quatre motets pour un temps de pénitence) and contemporary UK composers: James MacMillan (his Miserere based on Psalm 51) and highly acclaimed young composers Antony Pitts (his Lamentations 5 - Remember O Lord) and Alexander L'Estrange (My Song Is Love Unknown - based on the well-known hymn tune by John Ireland).
