‘The Passion’, a series of eight paintings by English artist Keith West, was displayed in St Margaret’s Church through the Lenten season. The paintings, grouped in pairs, explore the links between Old Testament events and key moments in Christ’s Passion.

Warwickshire born artist Keith West studied at Coventry College of Art and has lived in London since 1970. He was Head of Arts at Camden Institute from 1983 to 1997. For the past decade his work has focused on unfashionable narrative painting, subjects drawn from theatre, ballet, opera, portraiture and allegorical and Biblical themes.

The Passion Suite was first exhibited at the Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Alban for Easter 2008. Following that it went to St Martin-in-the-Fields in 2009, St James’ Piccadilly in 2010 and the Actors’ Church, St Paul’s Covent Garden in 2011.
