Vernon White, Canon Theologian. The final lecture on the possibilities of believing in life beyond death examined both the intellectual and moral integrity of the belief. It asked how such a belief can be held without intellectual compromise, and without succumbing to merely wishful thinking. It went on to argue that, properly understood, this hope and belief does not detract from our commitment to living fully in the here and now, but strengthens and transforms it.
