Abbey to Hold Service of Thanksgiving for Sir Terry Wogan

Westminster Abbey will hold a Service of Thanksgiving for the Life and Work of Sir Terry Wogan KBE DL on Tuesday 27th September at 12 Noon. 

Limerick-born Sir Terry, who died on 31st January this year, had a 50-year career on radio and television, including presenting Wake up to Wogan on BBC Radio 2 and the Wogan chat show on BBC1. He was also the voice of the Eurovision Song Contest in the UK for many years and had been involved in the Children in Need appeal since it began in 1980.

The Abbey is working with the family of Sir Terry and the BBC in planning the service. Attendance will be by invitation.
