    Richard was the son of Edward the ‘Black Prince’ (eldest son of Edward III) and Joan. Richard and Anne have fine gilt bronze effigies on their tomb in St Edward's chapel. Anne's funeral effigy head still exists in the Abbey collection.

    Henry VII was the only child of Edmund Tudor, Earl of Richmond (son of Henry V’s widow Catherine de Valois and Owen Tudor) and his wife Lady Margaret Beaufort. Italian sculptor Pietro Torrigiano designed the tombs of Margaret, Henry and Elizabeth.

    Edward I and Eleanor were the first king and queen to be crowned during the same ceremony since the Norman Conquest. Eleanor's fine tomb effigy is by William Torel.

    Henry Frederick, Prince of Wales, was the eldest son of James VI of Scotland (later James I of England) and his queen Anne of Denmark. He was born at Stirling Castle on 19 February 1594. He died in 1612 and is buried in the Abbey.

    Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon was born on 4 August 1900, daughter of the Earl and Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne. She married the future George VI in the Abbey and her funeral was held here. She is buried at Windsor.

  7. Marie of Savoy, Queen of France

    Marie of Savoy, Queen of France was temporarily buried in Henry VII's chapel in Westminster Abbey in 1810 and her body was removed to Sardinia in the following year.

    Anne was the younger daughter of Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick and Salisbury (‘the King-Maker’), and his wife Anne Beauchamp. She is buried on the south side of the Sanctuary in the Abbey. A modern brass is nearby.

    She was the only daughter of George V and Queen Mary and was born on the Sandringham estate on 25 April 1897.

    Joan was a daughter of Edward I and his queen Eleanor of Castile and was born at Acre in the spring of 1272. She married in the Abbey on 30 April 1290.
