Wardour family

Anna Sophia Wardour and two of her sons are buried in the centre part of the nave of Westminster Abbey. Their graves are now marked by small lozenge stones, near the grave of David Livingstone. The full size gravestones were taken up in 1834 with many others when the nave floor was re-laid. The original inscriptions were:

Tomkyns was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Guards and Colonel of the regiment of Invalids. He married at St James Westminster Elizabeth Jones, widow (nee Bourne).
