Jane Lister
In the east cloister of Westminster Abbey is a marble tablet to Jane Lister, daughter of Dr Martin Lister F.R.S. eminent zoologist and physician of York and his wife Hannah (or Anna) Parkinson. She was baptised at St Margaret's Westminster in 1683 and was buried in the cloister on 10th October 1688. The inscription reads:
Jane Lister deare childe died Oct.7th 1688. Also in memorie of her brother Michael Lister who died in August 1676 and was buried in Helenes Church in York.
Dr Lister re-married but was buried with his first wife at Clapham in 1712.
