Andrew and John Van Yzendoorn

Andrew (Andries) Van Yzendoorn and his only son John are buried in the south aisle of the nave of Westminster Abbey. When the nave was re-paved in 1834 most of the larger gravestones were taken up and replaced by a small lozenge shaped stone with just name and date of burial. The original stone read:

Here lies the body of John Van Yzendoorn Esqr. only son of Andrew Van Yzendoorn Esqr. of Mount Row, Lambeth who departed this life March the 11th 1807 in the 25th year of his age. Also the body of the said Andrew Van Yzendoorn Esqr. who died January 30th 1811 aged 66 years

The grave is in front of the monument to Katherine Bovey. Andrew's wife was Margaret and he had a daughter Sarah Mary. His brother was Peter and his nephew Herman was bequeathed the share in the brewery called the "Two Lyons" in Rotterdam in Holland. John died unmarried.
