Sir Charles Barry (d.1860)

A ground plan of his design for the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament) and elevation of the Victoria Tower are depicted on the brass to Barry, who lies near Stephenson. He rebuilt the Houses of Parliament after the fire of 1834. Representations of the Paschal Lamb and symbols of the Evangelists appear on a central cross, which also has roses, leaves and the letter ‘b’ on the stem. Made by Hardmans.
