13th – 19th November 2017
Parliament Week is an annual festival which aims to inspire, inform and connect people across the UK with Parliamentary democracy.
As part of Parliament Week, Westminster Abbey is offering Church and State themed guided tours that explore the historical and contemporary links between the Abbey and Houses of Parliament. Within the tour, pupils will discover the symbolism within the Coronation, stand where the Commons met in 1265, and consider how the Christian faith has shaped the governance of our country.
The tour lasts 1.5 hours and uses an enquiry - based or sensory approach according to the age of the group. Experience of the inside of the Houses of Parliament is an advantage but not essential.
