The Very Reverend Dr John Hall was installed as the 38th Dean of Westminster on 2 December 2006.
As well as being Sub-Dean and a Canon of Westminster, the Canon Wright is Rector of St Margaret's Westminster, and Chaplain to the Speaker of the House of Commons.
He has broad pastoral experience having ministered in a variety of parishes - inner city, commuter, market town and rural.

He has contributed vigorously to the debate on key social justice issues such as benefit levels, debt, the community charge, the nature of capitalism and asylum.
Canon Reiss’s particular responsibilities at the Abbey are as Canon Treasurer, advising the Chapter on financial and fabric matters. This builds on his previous experience as Archdeacon of Surrey in the Diocese of Guildford for nine years, where, as archdeacon, he was both a member of the Diocesan Board of Finance and the Diocesan Advisory Committee, which is the body dealing with fabric matters for the churches of the Diocese.
Canon Jane Hedges has been in ordained ministry for 26 years, having served seven years as a deaconess, seven as a deacon, then as a priest since 1994. She served her title in the Holy Trinity & St Columba Team Ministry in Fareham and following this spent five years in the Southampton City Centre Team Ministry where she ran a neighbourhood pastoral centre and was chaplain to the Royal South Hants Hospital.
David Burden joined Westminster Abbey as Receiver General in April 1999.
During an Army career in Regimental and staff appointments in UK, Germany, Cyprus and Hong Kong, including NATO and UN posts he specialised latterly in logistics and personnel. After attending the Royal College of Defence Studies in 1988, he was Assistant Chief of Staff in BAOR.
