Westminster Abbey Choir School exists solely to educate and care for the 30 or so boys who sing as choristers in the Abbey Choir. The purpose-built school, set in the heart of the Abbey precincts, offers a complete preparatory school boarding education but tailored precisely to the needs of choristers. Academic lessons, musical tuition, sports, activities and games are carefully arranged around the boys’ various singing commitments to offer a unique educational experience.
The Choir School provides a complete academic education tailored around the choristers’ singing routine.
The chorister training in itself is probably the very best form of musical education for boys of this age.
Westminster Abbey Choir
Central to the chorister’s life is singing as part of the Abbey choir. It is just a part of the rhythm of each day and this discipline gives a remarkable structure to school life.
Activities and Boarding
The choir’s busy schedule makes it essential for all boys to be boarders at the school.
If you are interested in finding out more about the opportunities of choristership or about life at Westminster Abbey Choir School, why not telephone the school to make an appointment to visit. We would be pleased to hear from you.
